Helping navigate the family challenges of addiction

When one family member struggles, we all struggle. We can navigate this together.

MyFamilyRecovery was built out of a simple need: in the world of addiction and mental health the focus is always on the individual with "the problem", but families and other loved ones need to have skills and support too. That's were we can help.

New Tools and New Perspectives

Navigating a loved one's struggles creates struggles of our own. It can be devastating, heartbreaking, and baffling. No one starts out with the tools they need to overcome these challenges. We can help you learn those tools and find new ways to manage and thrive; building a happier and more satisfying life while also giving your loved one the best chance at recovery.

How we are different

Many inpatient and outpatient treatment programs provide family programs. We know because we have helped design and build some of them. But these programs are always an add-on, an extra that comes with primary treatment. We think that families deserve their own program designed just for them with the focus on the tools and supports that you need to thrive.

What will I take away?

It's impossible to explain all of the things you will take away from our sessions because a lot of it hinges on what you bring in and what you want to get out of it. That said, here are a few takeaways you can count on.

Tools

From setting boundaries to learning new ways to communicate, you will take home practical tools that you can put to use immediately.

Learning

Through a variety of presentations and experiential groups you will learn more about the behaviour, thinking, and neurology of addiction, mental health, and the effects they have on family systems.

Support

You will meet others who are living in the same situations and facilitators with a combination of education and lived experience. You will no longer be alone.

Options for Change

We know that your life is busy. That's why we offer our programs in several flexible options tailored to meet your needs. Whether you are interested in our weekend programs, our 5 day intensives, our family coaching, or even our in person semi-annual retreats there is a program that is right for you and your family.

“At first I couldn't see how a weekend could help, but I was at the end of my rope and thought: what do I have to lose? It has changed my relationships, my work, and my whole life. I'm so grateful.” -Sandy K.
